Enter Time in a Timesheet
A variable timesheet allows you to enter time units for an employee’s Start and Finish times, as well as any Breaks during the time block. Your timesheets may also include options to enter splits shifts, leave, allowances or expenses, depending on how your portal is configured.
Timesheet Shortcuts
If an employee works the same hours across each day within the same timesheet period, you can click the 'to all' icon in the Copy column of the timesheet. This copies the data from the first line of the timesheet and applies it to all other business days.
If an employee works the same hours across two consecutive days in the timesheet, you can click the down arrow icon in the Copy column for the second day to copy and apply the data from the timesheet line directly above.
Enter Breaks in a Timesheet
The way that you can enter breaks on the timesheet will depend on the Timesheet Break Entry settings that have been configured for your portal.
Submit a Timesheet with One Job
Once a timesheet is completed, click Submit to send it for approval.
If the timesheet contains only one job, the status will update to Pending Approval. An email notification will be sent to the employee's Primary Approver to let them know that the timesheet requires reviewing. If Approver Groups have been configured for the employee's Workplace, you may see an option to select a specific Approver from a drop-down list.
Note: As an administrator, you can approve the timesheet once it has been submitted. If you do this, the nominated Approver will not be required to approve the timesheet for a second time. If an Approver tries to approve a timesheet via the notification they receive after it has been approved, they will be unable to do so.
Submit a Timesheet with Multiple Jobs
If there are multiple jobs in a timesheet, you will need to select which jobs are being submitted for approval in the Select Jobs to Submit popup window, then click Confirm. Any jobs which are not submitted as part of this step will be saved with a status of Pending Submission, and you will be able to return to them at a later date.
