Bereavement Leave (NZ)

Overview

Bereavement leave is generally available for employees after six months of continuous service, provided that they meet the entitlement criteria.

In Astute, bereavement leave is configured as a separate leave category, with an Accrual Method of non-accrued and an entitlement manually added to the employee’s leave balance on a case-by-case basis.

The Rate Calculation Method determines how bereavement leave is calculated. You can set this to calculate as a Multiplier or using the Dynamic Rate of your choosing.
