Overview
You need to ensure that the details for each entity are entered correctly, as these are included in the STP Update Finalisation Event you send to the ATO. These entity details will also need to meet the ATO’s validation requirements.
Entity Details
- Go to Config > Company Management > select the entity > Entity Details.
- Check the details in the following fields then click Save.
Entity Name |
- The name that appears on your company’s ABN or WPN registration
- Must contain only alphanumeric characters (ie letters and numbers)

Trading Name |
- The company’s full trading name
- Leave this field blank if the trading name is the same as the Entity Name

ABN |
- The company’s ABN
- Must contain only numeric characters
|
Payroll Settings
- Go to Config > Company Management > select the entity > Payroll.
- Check the details in the following fields and click Save.
Address |
- Your company’s postal address
- Maximum of 38 characters, including spaces
- Must contain only alphanumeric characters

Suburb |
- Must not be blank
- Maximum of 27 characters, including spaces
- Must contain only alphanumeric characters
|
State |
- Must not be blank
- Maximum of 3 characters (eg NSW, VIC)
- Must contain only alpha characters
|
Postcode |
- Must not be blank
- Maximum of 4 characters
- Must contain only numeric characters
|
Country |
- If your address is in Australia, can be left blank
- If you have an overseas address, must not be blank
- Maximum 20 characters
- Must contain only alphabetical characters

ATO Signatory |
- The name of the person who is authorised to sign off on submissions to the ATO
- Must not be blank
|
Working Holiday Maker Registered |
- Checkbox ticked if you are registered to withhold at WHM rates
|
Contact Details for ATO Queries |
- Contact name must be the person the ATO can contact for any queries about submissions and must not be blank
- Contact Phone Number must:
- be the direct number for the ATO contact person
- only contain numeric characters and spaces
- be either a landline phone number with area code or a mobile number. Please note that the ATO does not accept 1300 and 1800 numbers.
- Contact Fax Number must provide a landline phone number with area code if entered
- Contact email address must be a valid and correctly formatted email address for the ATO contact person

If you have multiple entities in your portal, the above steps will need to be repeated in each of them.
