Overview
If your employer has configured your timesheet to allow for multiple breaks to be entered, you'll be able to add the nominated number of breaks (between 1 and 3) to each time block in your timesheet.
A time block may be a single shift on a single timesheet day or, if you work split shifts, each separate time block represents an individual shift.
The ability to enter multiple breaks will only appear in your timesheet if:
- multiple break functionality is enabled by the team who manage your portal;
- you enter your breaks in your timesheet with a start and finish time; and,
- you complete an hourly timesheet.
Add Breaks to your Timesheet
To add breaks to your timesheet, click the + Add Break button to the right of your Finish Time.
A popup window will open where you'll need to enter the time your break started and finished, then click Save to add the break to your timesheet.
If you've entered multiple breaks for the shift, you'll see a summary of the breaks taken is listed underneath your shift Start and Finish fields, ordered from the earliest break taken through to the most recent.
The system will automatically confirm that your break falls between the start and finish times of your shift and doesn't overlap with another break for that time block.
Once the maximum number of breaks allowed has been entered, the + Add Break button will not show for the time block.
The breaks that you entered on a timesheet day will automatically deduct from the Total column in your timesheet.
Delete a Break from your Timesheet
You can delete a break by clicking the red 'x' to its right. This will reinstate the + Add Break button if you need to enter a new break, as the maximum number will not have been reached.
