Set Jobs and Categories in Astute for MYOB

Overview

Jobs and categories that are set up in MYOB can be linked in Astute so that tracking applies to the data exported into MYOB. 

Set Up a Job or Category

To set up Jobs and categories in Astute:

1. Go to Config > Company Management > select entity > Integration.

2. Select the Astute Field that represents the Job or Category from the drop down menu. The selection you make here identifies the name of the Job that will be pulled through during the export.

3. In MYOB, go to Lists > Jobs or Categories and enter the values from the Astute Field, ensuring that the spelling and formatting is identical. If you’re using subentities in Astute (eg Branches and Divisions), the values you have set up against these will need to be spelled exactly the same in MYOB and Astute. 

Job and Category Validation

An export will not fail if the Jobs or Categories are not set correctly. A new Job or Category will be created if one cannot be found in MYOB. These are case sensitive, so it’s important to take this into account as well, so you don’t end up with duplicate company cards in MYOB.

There is a 15 character limit on Jobs and Categories. If this limit is exceeded, the export will fail, so it is important to consider this when choosing which fields to use.
