Releases and Fixes
16 December 2020
- Expense Status Report. We've updated the on-screen report to include Customer and Job information, and renamed some expense statuses to be consistent with timesheets. You can now also delete expense reports that are not required, and employees can submit expenses for inactive jobs.
- Xero v2 Invoice Tokens. We've added five new tokens that can be used in the Reference Field for Payroll Sales and Expense Sales Invoices.

- Workplace Validation in Integrations. Extra validation has been introduced to ensure that the workplace that is set in a front end integration matches the Customer ID that has been set, when this data is sent to Astute.

- Deduction Balance Report. This report allows you to monitor deduction balances and prevent over-deducting from employees, showing the total amounts that have been deducted for each employee.
- Deduction Configuration. With the introduction of the above report, deduction items are now set with a Limit Type. Rates within the deduction item must all match that limit type. Deductions assigned to employees will be locked down once the deduction is included in a pay for that employee.

- File Types in Visa Uploader. The Visa tab in an employee profile now accepts the following file types: .pdf, .png, .jpeg, and .gif files. Each individual file can be up to 10MB in size.

- STP Submission Status. Additional statuses have been added to the STP Submission report. If a submission cannot be sent to the ATO, it will show a status of Send Failed. If a submission is sent successfully to the ATO and does not receive a response from the ATO within 72 hours, it will show a status of Response Timeout.

- Process Payment Runs Report. This report now requires you to set filters in the Report Settings dropdown menu and click Go before any data will be generated.

- FY 2020/21 Tax Tables. The tax tables in Astute have been updated in line with the new ATO tax tables. Per the ATO, these tax rates apply to payments made from 1 July 2020, but changes will only be applied to future payments. Employees will receive the remainder of their tax cut when they lodge their tax return at the end of the 2020/21 financial year.
- Tax Tables with no TFN supplied. An issue where tax tables do not update when an employee does not provide a TFN within the given timeframe has been resolved. Where the Config > Company Management > Payroll option to 'automatically update a tax table when no TFN is submitted' has been enabled, employees will now automatically be assigned the highest marginal tax table if they do not provide their TFN within the specified number of days.
