Overview
The Attributables mode reports oncosts based on the standard oncosts that are incurred during payroll processing in margin reporting. This includes Workplace Insurance, Payroll Tax, and the Super Guarantee.
The data is referred to as Attributables Oncosts to ensure that we are clear that we have to do some manipulation to this data.
When the Attributables mode is used, the system will consider thresholds and exemptions related to the standard oncosts, depending on how they have been configured.
In the case of Workplace Insurance and Payroll Tax, the results may not be exactly the same as the actual amounts that you pay, due to a range of reasons (eg thresholds, state proportioning, changes in liabilities). However, the results are an accurate and consistent estimate.
To set the EPR to report on attributables:
- Go to Reports > Management > Estimated Profit Report.
- Click Report Settings and select Use Attributables from the Oncost Mode drop-down.
- Click Go.
Data is added to the cache every night. If you pay someone today, you will see the costs in the EPR tomorrow. The Attributable Data is included with each pay event.
Please note that the Attributables mode is only available in Australian entities.
Configure Attributable Oncosts

Oncost | Summary | Configuration |
---|---|---|
Workplace Insurance |

Ensure you have a rate set in the Insurance Rate field on all jobs |
Workplace Insurance will be calculated on all eligible dollars that you pay |
Ensure any relevant pay items are marked as Workplace Insurance Exempt. |
|
Payroll Tax
|
Applies the Payroll Tax percentage for the Workplace State in the job that the pay relates to |
Ensure that a Workplace State is set on all jobs |
Payroll Tax will be calculated on all eligible dollars that you pay |
Ensure any relevant pay items are marked as Payroll Tax Exempt |
|

Ensure any relevant Customer are marked as Payroll Tax Exempt |
|
Super Guarantee
|
Is calculated using super that is processed in payroll |
|
If an employee’s earnings fall under the super threshold for a month, and super is therefore not calculated in process payroll, there will be no Attributable Super |
Ensure a Super Guarantee is set on all relevant employees |
|
If the employee’s earnings passed the super threshold, then Attributable Super will be calculated for all dollars, and attributions will be made to the jobs that have contributed to the total |
Ensure any relevant pay items are marked as Super Exempt |
