How does the Bullhorn integration work?

Overview 

Astute Payroll integrations with the Bullhorn RMS, with Astute regularly polling the Bullhorn system to pull new Placement and Candidate data through.

The Placements created in Bullhorn comprise a Candidate and a Job. When a Placement comes across to Astute Payroll as a Job, it is assigned to an employee (the Astute equivalent of a Candidate).

Other associated information (eg Approver, Customer, Billing Group) is also brought across.

Data required by Astute which is not standard in the Bullhorn platform will need to be configured as a custom field in Bullhorn. For example, Bullhorn does not record an Approver so this needs to be created as a custom field and mapped through the API.

Polling for New Placements

Astute will automatically poll Bullhorn every five minutes for new Placement information. For a Placement to be brought into Astute, it must be set to a status of Approved.

Astute will assess the information that it receives from Bullhorn by checking it against the existing data in a portal. For example, it will check:

• If there is already a Placement or Candidate with the same ID
• If the information required to create a new employee or Job has been provided
