Overview
Config > System Setup > Visa Types is a library of the visa types that have been configured for your portal. By default, the portal will include a preset list of Australian visa types, which can be added to, modified or removed to suit your requirements. If you have a portal with New Zealand enabled as a region, you'll see a preset list of NZ visa types as well.
Each row in the on-screen list includes a description of the Visa Type and the enabled Status.
Active visa types can be assigned to an employee in their Employment Eligibility tab.
Add a Visa Type
To add a visa type:
-
Go to Config > Payroll > Visa > Add New Visa.
-
If more than one region is enabled in your portal, select a region for the visa.
-
Enter a Name for the visa. This is a mandatory field and used to identify the visa when you are assigning to employees.
-
Tick the Enabled checkbox to make the visa available to assign.
-
Click Save.
Enable a Visa Type
If a visa type is enabled, you will be able to assign it to an employee in the Visa tab of their user profile.. To enable a visa from the Visa Types screen:
- Tick the checkbox to the left of the Visa Type.
- Click ‘With selected visa types…’
- Select ‘Enable’ from the drop-down field > Go.
You can also click on a Visa Type to edit the name and change its individual Enabled status.
A visa type can be disabled by following the steps outlined above and selecting ‘Disable’ from the drop-down list instead.
Visa types can be deleted from the master list as long as they aren’t linked to an employee profile. To delete a visa type:
- Tick the checkbox to the left of the Visa Type
- Click ‘With selected visa types…’
- Select Delete from the drop-down field > Go.
